While studying criminal justice and psychology at Iowa State, Ainslea gained a better understanding of human behavior, but her absolute favorite place to be is working directly with kids. Having spent years working as a summer nanny, she fell in love with watching children develop and knew she wanted a career dedicated to supporting them. She chose her position at Axis to turn that passion into meaningful support for children on the autism spectrum. In her role, Ainslea approaches every child with the belief that progress is a unique journey. She knows growth isn’t one-size-fits-all, and she loves discovering what makes each child special so she can build on their individual strengths. She partners with families every step of the way, cheering each child on through every victory, big or small. Outside of work, Ainslea can usually be found at the gym, hanging out with friends, or relaxing at home with her cats.
